What you might want to discuss
For example:
- Expressing a view or making a request.
- Saying no or setting a limit.
- Deciding what to do when criticism is likely.
How I work with this
We can look at what you anticipate in a situation, what you do and how it turns out. That may include preparing a conversation, trying a small change or examining an expectation that comes up. The focus is agreed with you.
Appointments
Start with a free welcome call to discuss what you want to work on and ask about sessions. We agree appointments separately, subject to availability.
Before you book
Questions worth asking.
Isn't low confidence just how some people are?+
We can explore particular situations and experiences rather than treating confidence as a fixed description of you.
Will this turn me into someone loud and pushy?+
We agree your aims. The work does not require you to adopt a different personality or style.
How is this different from a confidence-building course?+
This is individual counselling, based on your circumstances. It is not a set course or presentation-skills programme.
Isn't this the same as self-esteem?+
The terms overlap in everyday language. We can discuss both how you feel about a particular task and how you see yourself more broadly.
Can we focus on confidence in one particular situation?+
Yes. We can use a specific example, such as speaking at work or setting a boundary, to agree the focus.
