Grief and loss
counselling for men

Counselling to talk about a death or another loss, and whatever you want to bring with it.

What you might want to discuss

For example:

  • The person, relationship or part of life you have lost.
  • Practical changes and decisions after the loss.
  • Feelings or questions you want to discuss.

How I work with this

We can talk about what the loss means to you, including memories, anything you would change, and what is different day to day. I do not set a deadline for grief or ask you to follow a sequence of stages. We agree what you want from our conversations.

Appointments

Start with a free welcome call to discuss what you want to work on and ask about sessions. We agree appointments separately, subject to availability.

Before you book

Questions worth asking.

Is it normal to still be struggling years later?+
You can seek counselling about a loss that happened years ago. We discuss its place in your life now.
What if I feel things I'm not supposed to feel - relief, anger, guilt?+
You can describe those feelings in counselling. We explore what they mean to you without prescribing how you should feel.
I don't cry much. Does that mean I'm not grieving properly?+
Crying is not a requirement for counselling. You can describe your experience in the way that works for you.
What if the loss wasn't a death - a relationship, a job, a version of my future?+
Yes. We can discuss a separation, loss of work, health changes or another loss that matters to you.
Do I need to bring photographs or belongings to a grief session?+
No. You can ask to bring something if you want to discuss it, but there is no requirement.
