How online counselling works in Chester and Cheshire West.
Sessions run by secure video or phone, with a link sent beforehand. The session lasts the same fifty minutes it would in a room.
If you would rather work with a counsellor who is not local to you, online sessions make that straightforward. There is no building to arrive at.
It also removes the journey, which in a county this spread out can be a long one.
Covered from here
What you need for an online session.
Somewhere private and any device with a microphone. The link arrives by email in advance and expires after the session. Headphones make more difference than a good camera.
Men counselling men.
If you specifically want to work with a male counsellor, Men’s Therapy UK offers that option. If that matters to you, it is worth saying on the free welcome call.
What you can bring to counselling.
A life that looks fine from outside.
Nothing you could point to as wrong, and a persistent sense that something is.
Pressure to keep providing.
A standard of living that now depends on you staying exactly as capable as you were.
Distance in a long relationship.
Not a crisis. Years of small accumulations that nobody named at the time.
Drinking that fills a gap.
Nothing dramatic. A reliable evening habit that has stopped being a choice.

Free mental health support across Chester & Cheshire West.
Paid counselling is one option and not always the right first one. Everything here is free, takes self-referrals, and expects nothing from you in advance.
Counselling questions men in Chester & Cheshire West ask.
Chester is a small place. How private is this really?
+
We discuss privacy arrangements for remote sessions. I explain how information is used, clinical supervision and the limits of confidentiality before we begin. Your surroundings need to allow a private conversation.
Do you take clients from north Wales?
+
Online has no border, so practically yes. The pages on this site cover England because that is where the work is concentrated, not because anywhere else is excluded.
What if my partner wants to come too?
+
This is one-to-one work rather than couples therapy, so no. If the relationship is the main issue, a couples counsellor is the better fit and I will say so on the call.
Do you keep a record of what I say?
+
Brief notes only, encrypted and identified by initials. They exist so the work has continuity between sessions, not as a file on you, and you can ask what is in them.
How much does the first conversation cost?
+
The welcome call is free and there is no obligation attached to it. It exists so neither of us commits to something that is not going to work.

Choose a day and time in the calendar below. You can ask me questions about how I work and tell me what you would like support with. There is no obligation to book counselling afterwards.
Counselling in other areas.
Online sessions cover the whole of the UK regardless. These are the places with a page of their own.
